Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if I had written this blog in English since its humble beginnings. Not that I really considered that at the time, I was really just writing some sort of diary for family and friends. But then came the LHC startup, and the superluminal neutrinos, and the Higgs discovery, and... I have to admit that ver the years I played with the idea more than once. I know from the blog access statistics that sometime some reader lands here from a Google Translate page, so there has always been some potential for an international readership. Who knows? (and, by the way, Google Translate has become really good!).
Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if I had written this blog in English. Or in broken English. Or in whatever form of English I have some command on, that is not necessarily a very good one. This blog is not new to systematic typos, whatever the language. But anyway.
Sometimes I wonder, because this blog has just turned ten years old, and ten years are quite a lot, and I'm asking myself again what to do with it, what kind of experiment I could run in this space, what projects I could nurture, if any.
Ou j'aurais pu l'écrire en Français depuis le debut, si seulement je en avais été capable. Mais il y a probablement trop d'accents en Français pour un blog. Par ailleurs, comment dit-on "blog" en Français? Blogue? Carnet électronique sur la toile? Bof.

In my opinion it could be an interesting experiment to try; write some blog entries in English, give the net its due time to share the word about your blog, and compare the new visitors flow to the old one (when Italian was used).
I'm sure you'll be able to reach much more people like that, and frankly your blog deserves it 🙂
As for me, I love reading about your life and discoveries ... it makes science a bit more HUMAN than I studied it at school...

se noi commentatori possiamo continuare a scrivere le nostre frasi in italiano, per me va bene! anzi, potrebbe essere la volta buona che mi elevo dal livello base di inglese in cui sono impantanata da anni - anzi, decenni.

Io ho cominciato a leggerti poco prima di espatriare in Svizzera circa otto anni fa proprio perché mi interessava, oltre la fisica delle particelle, il punto di vista di un italiano espatriato.
Di blog in inglese all'epoca ce n'erano tanti (e molti hanno chiuso nel frattempo). Se il tuo fosse stato in inglese forse non lo avrei trovato e forse non avrei iniziato a seguirlo.
Probabilmente se il tuo blog fosse stato scritto in inglese fin dall'inizio avresti avuto un altro seguito, formato magari per lo più da addetti ai lavori e magari non avresti adottato quell'approccio divulgativo che tutti qui abbiamo adorato e che ti ha portato a Particelle Familiari. O no?
